W.G. (Mickey) Holliman, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Furniture Brands International, Inc., today announced the appointment of Tom Tilley as President and Chief Executive Officer of Thomasville Furniture Industries, a subsidiary of Furniture Brands International.

Mr. Tilley, age 56, began his career with Armstrong World Industries where he worked for 21 years in increasing levels of responsibility, the last 15 years of which were in a sales and marketing role with Thomasville Furniture Industries. He left Thomasville in 1989 and has since held senior management posts with Masco Home Furnishings, Century Furniture Industries, and La-Z-Boy Incorporated. Since January 2002, he has served as President of Pennsylvania House, a Division of La-Z-Boy.

Mr. Holliman also announced that he has accepted the resignation of Christian J. Pfaff as President of Thomasville. Mr. Pfaff has served in that capacity since 1998 and will be leaving the company to pursue other interests.

Mr. Holliman stated: "Tom Tilley is an outstanding manager with a breadth of experience in the furniture industry, and we are pleased he has agreed to undertake this new role. He has a strong background in product development and great respect among the leaders of the industry. He will bring a wealth of new ideas to Thomasville."
