Some states (Wisconsin is among them...surprise, surprise) go so
far as to require PIRG donations from every college

"You can discover what your enemy fears most by observing the
means he uses to frighten you."
Eric Hoffer
There are detractors, and then
there are enemies. A detractor is generally someone who's
knowledge about rent to own is based on a 20/20 episode.
Detractors may be ignorant, but ignorance is curable in all but
the most liberal extremists.
One of the most organized and best funded of our enemies is
PIRG, the deceptively named 'Public Interest Research Group' who
pretends to represent those who "have no voice". In reality,
they represent only the extreme left wing of American politics.
The group invents issues where none exist. The one consistent
theme in every PIRG cause is a desire to convince people how
miserable they really are. Based on the groups actions, an
appropriate slogan would be..."PIRG, We care because you're too
stupid".
As the push for federal Rent to Own legislation heats up, PIRG,
the self appointed consumer Gestapo will soon
begin it's canned 'anti [fill in the blank]' campaign.
| Based on the groups
actions, a more accurate slogan would be..."PIRG,
We care because you're too stupid" |
PIRG is careful to send respectable looking lawyers to
testify before congress, but the real engine of the group is
thousands of naive college students at campus PIRG's around the
country. These students provide PIRG with most of it's funding
and free workforce.
Young minds full of mush on campuses all over the country,
worshiping at the alter of Ralph Nader happily
pound away at keyboards to expose the evil of all things
profitable. Never mind that mom and dad's paychecks from those
same evil corporations are funding their 4 year all expense paid
vacation from reality.
Ralph Nader, the energizer bunny of activism and a man who has
never produced anything in his life except a failed
presidential bid and a bad hairdo, is the founder of PIRG. Mr.
Nader practices the shotgun approach to consumer advocacy
"Oppose everything...someone is bound to send you a check".
If you have kids in college, chances are you're "donating" to
the very organization that seeks your destruction
It takes a lot of money to save people from themselves.
PIRG's primary means of funding comes from so called 'student
fees'. A practice closely resembling extortion by which PIRG
dues are automatically added to your children's tuition.
Millions of dollars are collected, often times without their
knowledge, from unsuspecting parents of college students.
Some states (Wisconsin is among them...surprise, surprise) go so
far as to require PIRG donations from every college
student. They defend their actions by calling it "free speech"?
Some organizations are fighting back. In a recent article for Fox News, Craig Rucker, executive
director for the Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow,
estimated that Nader's causes take in somewhere between $10 and
$20 million annually from college students, most all of it
unwittingly.

...What's remarkable is the blatant, transparent hypocrisy the
PIRGS use to defend their tactics. The USPIRG Web site claims
that mandatory student fees earmarked for liberal activism are
"protected
by the First Amendment," and are intended to "foster a
marketplace of ideas."
PIRG members and other so-called consumer advocates suffer from
an incurable disease that prefers ignorance over education. They
will never change. They will never stop. Stay informed
