In a release issued
today,
Thomson is reporting a 13.5% market share of all digital
projection TVs in the US. The company also reports a 7% share of
all LCD TVs in Europe.
Thomson credits last years expansion of the
companies high end product line for the increased share.
In Home Entertainment Services, activity has
been robust: the replication of DVD units grew 74% year-on-year
to approximately 284 million units.
Thomson has a
reported 35% share of the DVD replication market. On the
other hand, as expected, VHS duplication continued to decline,
falling 38% year-on-year to approximately 51 million units. The
split of DVD to VHS units replicated by Thomson now reaches
85%/15% versus 67%/33% a year ago.
