Furniture Answers Ltd, a leading provider of refurbishment and repair training for the rent to own industry, announced the availability subscription based streaming video for the entire training series. The video training is available from any computer with internet access.

"Special techniques used to fix damaged furniture are now available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for wood furniture, upholstery and motion," said Pat Blank, Furniture Answers National Director of Training and Support. Subscription costs are a small fraction of what one single repair would cost were it outsourced.

Blank explained “The cost for a subscription varies depending on the size of the organization and on the length of subscription. Companies that sign-up multiple locations will receive bulk discounts. Certain buying group members will also receive discounts.

"Most repairs that are outsourced could be easily completed by store personnel with a little training and the right tools," said Pat Blank. "Those who have implemented our training program, available on DVD or online, have realized immediate and significant savings.

The average cost of outsourcing repairs can be as high as $10,800 per year per store (see table), and that's without considering the less tangible expenses. Here are a few:

- Repair companies are almost never available immediately. Properly training employees can implement repairs the same day.
- Many repair companies require that the furniture be brought to them. Multiple moves means multiplied damage.
- Productively using store employees down-time is un-calculable. Many repairs can be done in 15 minutes. It takes longer than that to either arrange to have a piece repaired, or to figure out how much to discount it and then tag it.

The on-line library will grow each and every month to provide an endless supply of techniques. "We are always getting requests to come up with ways of fixing new problems with new lines of furniture," Appleby stated. Furniture Answers is currently working with an appliance expert to add appliance repair training to the mix.

Two levels of repair kits are available. A reasonably priced starter kit for simple repairs and a more advanced field kit for in-home repairs.
