It is our
purpose to make sure rent to own companies can run
better-faster-smarter and more profitably.
Wayne Chambers, President, RSSS
Rental and Sales Software Systems (RSSS)
President Wayne Chambers welcomed rental pros to the 2006 Fly High 06'
RSSS Users Conference General Session today in Corpus Christi,
Texas. The conference focus is on the soon to be released RSSS
version 12.0.
Chambers, a self proclaimed "non-IT guy", sees his roll as
blending real-world RTO operations with technology. "I bring a
different perspective to the business," he said in his opening
remarks. "It is our purpose to make sure rent to own companies
can run better-faster-smarter and more profitably. RSSS is about
enhancing revenues, lowering cost and increasing employee
productivity."
Chambers, a Wichita native, began his Rent-To-Own Industry
career in 1976 with Remco in Houston, Texas. He advanced through
the ranks with several rent-to-own companies to become the Vice
President of Finance at Home Choice Holdings until 1999 when it
was sold to RentWay. Chambers then joined
Advance America Cash Advance Centers, Inc. where he worked
until being named President of RSSS' parent company, High Touch,
in October, 2005 (see
story).
RSSS Genera Manager Ellison Crider told RTO Online the company
holds a user conference about every 18 months, coinciding with
each new release. "One of the most significant development in
version 12.0 (to be released later this year) is integrated
credit card processing," said Crider. The software will be
capable of fully integrated credit card processing at
point-of-sale or in batch mode for recurring payments. Thee
company has partnered with
SkipJack
Financial Services to process the transactions.

Dan Companion, Home Now Director of Operations, sees real-time
data as RSSS' strongest suit. "We live in a real-time world,"
said Companion. "We deliver inventory twice per week from our
own distribution network, he said. "Real-time inventory is
critical for Home Now operations. RSSS gives us a real
competitive advantage." Home Now is the rent to own division of
retail giant Badcock and More. Badcock operates over 300
