I want to
be viewed by clients, not as a vendor, but as a strategic
partner.
Wayne Chambers, President, RSSS
Rental and Sales Software Systems (RSSS)
wrapped it's 2006 Fly High 06' User Conference in Corpus
Christi, Texas. The group held a Casino Night Tuesday to
celebrate.

Wayne Chambers, President of High Touch, RSSS' parent
company told RTO Online that software should
compliment, not complicate, operations.
Chambers' first decision
after taking over as president in January, 2006, - meet the customers.
Lots of them. "The first thing I needed
to do was a lot of traveling," he said. "I've traveled for several months, meeting with our client base and
learning what was really happening." Chambers describes his
leadership style as "management by walking around", and his
approach to software as "customer centric". "I needed to know
what I needed to know," he said. Chambers is admittedly low-tech. His
real strength lies in his 30
years of rental-purchase operational experience. He has the
ability to act as a universal translator between operations and
IT. His message to clients - "Tell me what your business
needs are and I'll adapt our technology to meet the needs of
your business." His message to programmers - "I want programmers
and support personnel to sit down with clients and talk about
business needs from an owners perspective."
"I want to be viewed by clients, not as a vendor, but as a
strategic partner that can impact their business," explained
Chambers. "That impact might be through software development,
video surveillance or cost control. Ultimately, it means
becoming a technology consultant."
