will be required in 2010. But Isuzu has already
incorporated these into their diesel trucks. |
"The air coming out of our Isuzu
diesel trucks is cleaner than the air you breathe," says
Michelle Dunning, sales manager with
Adobe Equipment Commercial Trucks.
She goes on to explain that in compliance with recently revised
Federal Emissions Standards and clean air requirements, all
diesel engines being manufactured are now required to reduce
production of nitrogen oxide and hydrocarbons by 50%, with
further reductions in allowed emissions slated for 2010.
Isuzu uses a gas recirculation system to provide and maintain
the best engine performance and fuel economy. In order to meet
emissions requirements, Isuzu diesel engines capture soot and
larger particles in a special diesel particulate filter, cleaned
by a high-temperature regeneration process that keeps the filter
from clogging and reduces emissions to pure air and a harmless
ash residue.
"Exhaust gases usually supply the high heat needed for this
process," says Dunning. Dual-wall air gap pipes, an insulated
catalyst and filter end cones retain the heat within the exhaust
system while not significantly raising pipe and component
exterior skin temperatures. "During the course of travel if a
vehicle does not produce exhaust gases that are hot enough for
regeneration, a control light will alert the driver to simply
activate a switch on the dashboard and resolve the issue
manually."
Dunning adds, "Tighter Federal emissions standards will be
required in 2010. But Isuzu has already incorporated these into
their diesel trucks. Why wait when it pays to be efficient now?
When others are scrambling to adjust, we already will be
providing a superior product."
Dunning,
who has served the rental-purchase industry for more than 15
years, says her trucks appeal to RTO customers for several
reasons, not the least of which is their efficiency, durability,
comfort and economic value. They also are ideal for RTO industry
deliveries because of the power lift gate and ramp. A preferred
vendor for Premier Rental-Purchase and Aaron Rents, Adobe offers
generous lease and payment plans and will drop ship their trucks
anywhere in the country.
