The
Consumer Electronics
Association (CEA), producer of the
International
Consumer Electronics Show (CES), announced the honorees
selected for the "Technology is a Girl's Best Friend" (TechGirl)
Product Showcase at the 2004 International CES.
The
final products were selected by a panel of style and technology
journalists and were judged on form, function, overall
ease-of-use and the product's benefits to female consumers.
Now in its second year, the TechGirl Product
Showcase features consumer electronics products that combine new
technologies with good design and pay particular attention to
the needs of the female consumer base, from the research and
development stage through the crafting of marketing strategies
and all points in between. Journalists from top women's media
outlets and leading technology reporters judged entries
submitted in the categories of audio; computer/IT; digital
imaging; electronic gaming; home networking; mobile electronics;
video; and wireless. Two products in each category were selected
from more than 300 entries.
This years winners in the Video category were
Pioneer and Panasonic.
