Buddy's Home Furnishings, the largest independent
rent to own company in the United States, held it's 4th annual Cruise to the
Bahamas in September. All 62 store managers and their spouses went on the cruise
as well as the company's entire Home Office Management Team and 16 vendors
including; Whirlpool Corp.,
Jerry Bogo Co., Florida State Games, DPI TeleConnect, O’Rourke Distributing,
and Welton-Techwood who took home the coveted Buddy’s Home Furnishings "Vendor
of the Year Award".

"In all there were 204 people in the group," said Melissa Sulsberger, Director
of Marketing for Buddy's. "Our stay in the Bahamas was shortened a bit due to
Hurricane Jeanne, but fun was had by everyone who attended." Sulsberger added
that everyone received an extra day off work as the ship cruised around Cuba to
avoid the storm.
The cruise serves as the annual kickoff for the Christmas renting season.
Buddy's also gave out 3rd quarter awards during the cruise as well as a lot of
cash for the summer sales contests. "In all about $14,000 in prize money went to
the managers," said Sulsberger. "It was a great time to rest, relax and gear up
for what will be a very busy 4th quarter."
