Robin Leach, celebrity host to the rich and famous and Las Vegas resident, will be on hand to host the festivities and announce the grand prize winner.

Las Vegas Furniture Market announced plans to give away a total of $500,000 in cash to qualified buyers attending Las Vegas Market, January 28 – February 1, 2008.

Dubbed The Fashion 500 Runway Rewards, the promotional event will include 10 daily winners who will win $5,000 each and will be selected randomly each day of market. On Wednesday, January 30, the grand prize will be drawn in which one lucky buyer will return home with a grand prize of $250,000. Robin Leach, celebrity host to the rich and famous and Las Vegas resident, will be on hand to host the festivities and to aptly announce the grand prize winner.

"As we head into 2008, in advance of the landmark Grand Opening of Building C in July, we felt there was no better time to stimulate retailers with an unprecedented promotion that will help fuel excitement for our Winter Market and positively affect the lives of 50 buyers," said Dana Andrew, vice president of marketing and public relations.

Andrew says all indications are already pointing to a well-attended Winter Market. "Pre-registration among retailers for January Market is tracking higher than average, when compared to this period during past markets. Pre-registration is also significantly higher among international buyers," said Andrew.

The January market will feature new product introductions from nearly 1,300 exhibiting companies.

Registered buyers and designers who attend the January 2008 Las Vegas Market are automatically entered into the drawing upon their badge being scanned via the RFID badge scanning portals, which exist at the entry points of World Market Center and the MGM Grand Exhibition Hall.

Winners will be drawn and announced during the scheduled January 2008 Las Vegas Market events including the Viva Las Vegas Rep Appreciation Party on Sunday night, January 27 (drawing on Sunday open to Reps only); the Vegas Runway: Market Kick off Party on Monday, January 28; the Classic Hollywood Soiree at MGM Grand on Tuesday, January 29; Party on the Floors: Las Vegas Market Happy Hour on Wednesday, January 30 and the Delectable Desserts event on Thursday, January 31. Winners will be drawn and announced before 7 p.m. at each of these events.

The $5,000 Daily Prize winners will be announced Sunday through Thursday and need not be present at the drawing to win. The winner of the Grand Prize drawing for $250,000 must attend Winter Las Vegas Market and must be present at the time of the drawing on Wednesday evening in order to win. Entrants are eligible to only win one Sweepstakes prize, however. Semi-finalists for the grand prize drawing will be announced on Wednesday morning.

The Winter Las Vegas Market will feature nearly 3 million square feet of permanent showrooms in both buildings, showcasing some of the biggest and best brands in home furnishings. In addition, hundreds of companies will be located within the expansive Pavilions, located on the World Market Center campus, as well temporary exhibits at MGM Grand with five distinctive show sections covering nearly 350,000 square feet.
