Temporary exhibits of the Winter
Las Vegas Furniture Market will be located for the first time at
the MGM Grand. Opening on Tuesday January 29, buyers can see
more than 500 temporary exhibitors and new show sections at MGM
Grand, located near the permanent showrooms at World Market
Center. Complimentary M-line shuttles will run throughout the
day to and from host hotels and World Market Center.
Filling the newly completed 90,000 square foot MGM Pavilion will
be the three juried show sections of Las Vegas Market – Design &
Living, Living Green Pavilion and for the first time – ConText;
together these exhibits celebrate the top echelon of style with
a focus on design-inspired products. Next, blurring the line
between the growing home décor and gift sector will be a well
rounded roster of home accent companies, located in the Vegas
Accessory & Gift section at MGM Grand Arena. Finally, the
Furniture show section will take center stage at the MGM
Conference Center and feature a cross section of home
furnishings manufacturers from around the world.
Making a strong return to the Winter Las Vegas Market, the
Design & Living showcase will offer an exclusive collection of
companies featuring all styles of furniture, from contemporary
to classical, as well as high-design home décor, art and
lighting products. This juried segment of temporary exhibits
will conjure fashion-forward ideas to inspire luxury stores,
interior designers and independent retailers looking to keep
their offerings fresh and vibrant. New favorites include English
Living—representing Duresta, the top upholstery name in the
U.K.; A M USA—a popular creative resource shifting ever more
towards high design; Ercole Inc. and Form and Pheromone which
showcases a unique artistic perspective of entomology.
Glimmering familiar names will include Haute House, White
Orchid, Domison, and Seasonal Living.
The MGM Grand Pavilion will also be the spot to observe the
eco-friendly movement in multiple showcase segments. For its
second Las Vegas Market, the Living Green Pavilion is a
specialty focus that will center on sustainable furnishings or
furniture using wood, cushioning, fabrics and finishing
materials that can be renewed through natural processes over the
long term. Asian Art
Imports, Mathews & Company, Eangee Home Design and other
companies are leading the movement for “green” to be dynamic,
design-oriented, and fashionable. The Living Green Pavilion is a
partnership between World Market Center, the Sustainable
Furniture Council and Channel Logic.
ConText will make its debut at Winter Las Vegas Market and is
sharply focused on textiles and “top of bed” products. ConText
will feature the best of the best in textile design and
decorative products. Fresh talent enters this segment with Nest
Linens for just-the-right look and Revman International for top
retail brand names. Other traditional favorites include SDH,
Bella Notte, Peacock Alley and Jiti Bedding.
The environment at the MGM Grand is tailored for the convenience
of buyers and to maximize efficiency, according to Michelle
Monteferrante, World Market Center’s Vice President of
International Development.
“The MGM is going to be a dynamic showcase of companies and new
products, and it should not be missed by Market attendees,”
Monteferrante said. “Creating meaningful show sections allows
the exhibitor to be readily discovered by product category, and
creates the most efficient shopping experience for the buyers.
We have designed our off site event to ensure the show floor
fosters cross-sales opportunities across the categories.”
In addition to a huge representation of exhibits, inspiration
and new product, the MGM Grand will also play host to several
educational and social events planned for Market, including a
Hollywood style party on Tuesday evening, seminars about the
latest in market trends and a strategy discussion about consumer
demand for environmentally conscious practices.
