Bassett Furniture will close
it's Dublin, Ga. bedroom furniture plant, cutting 300 jobs.
The company cites the weak retail market as a primary cause
for moving production to an existing plant in Virginia. A $3
million charge will be taken in the first quarter.
In recent years, imports have replaced the majority of
domestic product.
Bassett will continue to operate it's 4 remaining US
facilities.
