Carolina Rent to Own opened its
first South Carolina location in Rock Hill on Feb 1st.
The store, owned by Danny Ziegler, will be managed by Jason
Walker of Rock Hill. It will employ six. The Rock Hill store
will be the Ziegler's second. He opened his first store in
Charlotte in 2001. He hopes to open 12 stores by the end of
2005.
The 3,000-square-foot store will also offer payday loans.
Ziegler chose Rock Hill (pop 46,000) because of growth in the
area, he said. "We look at Rock Hill as the most vibrant city in
the greater Charlotte area."

"There is a lot of competition in Rock Hill. All the chains are
here and we are all within a stones throw of each other. But
nobody beats our prices or our service. I think being a small
operation gives you an advantage. You can develop a closer
relationship with each customer." Jason began his RTO career, as
many have, as a store manager for Rent a Center. He adds, "I was
a store manager for Rent a Center, and its a great company, but
there are things that you can do as an independent that a big
chain is just incapable of."
