Mitsubishi will pay license fees to Gemstar-TV Guide based on the number of units sold that include the licensed technology.

Gemstar-TV Guide International and Mitsubishi have signed a multi-year licensing agreement under which Mitsubishi has licensed the right to incorporate TV Guide On Screen, Gemstar-TV Guide's interactive program guide for the consumer electronics arena, into Mitsubishi digital televisions and digital recorders in North America. Gemstar-TV Guide had already entered into agreements with Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, the parent company of Mitsubishi, which allowed for the incorporation of Gemstar-TV Guide's interactive program guide in Japan and Europe.
