Jeffrey Halford & the Healers fifth album RAILBIRDS, due in stores April 12, includes the track "Rent to Own."

Shoeless Records, the bands label, said in a statement, "The band then turns it around and shakes the rafters on "Rent to Own," written from a woman's point of view as she decides whether to buy or rent her man -"a 30-day trial, see how the chemistry flows, rent to own."

Shoeless records describes Halford as "Raymond Carver with Johnny Cash, or Kerouac with Kristofferson, backed by a rocking band."

Guest musicians backing the Healers include Texas keyboard icon Augie Meyers (Bob Dylan, Sir Douglas Quintet), San Francisco neighbor and guitar ace Chuck Prophet, and former Counting Crows drummer Steve Bowman, all of whom rise to the demands of Halford's visceral lyrics.
