cannot be restored or even used until it is unlocked.

PCRental Agent continues to
rollout, adding an additional 100 stores and ending the 4th
quarter 150% above the company's original projected target. The company also announced that PC Rental Agent is
now compatible with Windows Vista. “With Microsoft’s release of
Vista last week, we’re now ready and can continue focusing on
growth," said Tim Kelly, DesignerWare, makers of PCRental
Agent.
What is PCRental?
PCRental Agent is software installed on rental computers
allowing them to be locked down by the RTO dealer. Once locked
down, the computer cannot be restored or even used until it is
unlocked by the dealer.
"If the customer skips, you can use the tracking information to
track where the computer is which will help you in your
recovery," explains Kelly. "If the customer stops paying, you
can lockdown the computer which improves your collections."
Non-paying customer’s find themselves with a computer they
cannot use.
What does PCRental Agent cost?
A site license is $19.95 (one time fee.). Multiple stores need a
site license for each store to allow locations to be managed
separately (recommended). Each site license will be billed 75¢
for each computer using the service each month. For example,
with 25 computers on rent, the monthly bill will be $18.75.
Computers idle in inventory cost you nothing because you’re only
paying usage. Another way to look at the cost is on a unit by
unit base therefore 12 months of protection will add $9.00 to
each computer. There is no long-term obligation. Cancel at
anytime.
Kelly
concluded, "We’re so convinced you’ll love the product we’re
offering it FREE for 60-days. All we ask is you pay for the site
license. If after 60-days you’re not convinced, just stop using
the software.”
