You know, I honestly had never looked at it this way. But it makes perfect sense. I know I am more eager to call the folks I know I will get in touch with, more apt to drive to the easy collects house first. But working the difficult customer does make so much more sense. Currently there are two accounts on my route that are out of hand because I have allowed them to get that way. I could say that Mr. X has done/not done this or that, or I could point out Mr. Y had failed in this area. But the fact is it is my route. I have to quit being scared that they "will not like me", and do what is required for success.
