When it comes to references, quality is more important than
quantity. And when it comes to quality...you can't beat dear old
Mom!
Regardless of the number of references you require, ask for
at least 2 relatives. While you can't require a customer to list
'Mom' as a reference, a comment like "Does your Mom live around
here?" would be appropriate.
Friends, jobs, apartments, and pets may change...but Mom is
always Mom.
