Kevin Engler (R), the current Representative from the 106th
district, is seeking election to the Missouri Senate when his
first term expires in November.
A primary will be held between Romine and fellow
Republican
Dr. Steven D. Tilley, O.D.. The winner will face a
Democratic opponent in the general election in November.
Gary Romine chose
Farmington High as the location for his announcement because
that's where he began his teaching career in 1978 teaching
Entrepreneurial Skills. Gary later left teaching to found Show
Me Rent to Own. His business grew to become one of the largest
independently owned rental purchase companies in the state, but
teaching is his true calling. "My passion is education, my
business has given me a platform to reach my goals" he said. "I
decided long ago that someday, I would help teachers get the
recognition they deserve. I intent to take my organizational and
management skills and my passion for education and get things
done in Jefferson City."
Gary grew up in
Poplar Bluff Missouri where he
was taught the unique Midwestern value of taking pride in your
work by his father. After
graduating from Central Missouri State University in 1978,
Romine began a career in teaching. "I found that I was best at
teaching by example," he says.

exclusive Gary Romine interview throughout the week.
