Factoids

Nat Turner is a high school senior. He has founded 50 websites and conducts business with companies in 22 states and six countries. Nat also does pro bono work for several non-profit organizations.

On Monday, CertificateSwap.com's 17-Year-Old-President, Nat Turner, received the TCU Texas Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Award. The event was hosted by Texas Christian University's Neely School of Business and was sponsored by KPMG. The TCU Texas Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Awards Program recognizes young high school entrepreneurs for their success in business. To be eligible, entrants must currently be enrolled in high school.

The Ryffel Center for Entrepreneurial Studies in the Neely School of Business at TCU awarded Turner with a $5,000 college scholarship. Turner has already committed to the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business beginning next fall however in addition to Turner's outstanding academic accomplishments, he is also the President of CertificateSwap.com - a startup internet company allowing consumers to sell unwanted gift certificates at a discount.

0CertificateSwap.com was launched in December by 19-year-old college freshman, Cameron Johnson from Roanoke, Virginia. Since the company's launch, just over six weeks ago, the company has been featured in over one-hundred media outlets nationwide including USA Today, Time Magazine, The NY Post, MSNBC, The Chicago Tribune, and dozens of others. Johnson, the company's Founder and CEO, started his first business at the age of 9 and in 2002 was the Keynote Speaker with Michael Dell at the Youth International Technology Summit in Austin, Texas. Nat Turner was asked to be a speaker at the same event in 2003 and this is when he was first introduced to Johnson. While the CertificateSwap.com concept has received nationwide attention, it is currently in the process of raising additional capital from angel investors and venture capitalists.
