Full 1080p
resolution has certainly come of age, especially as lower cost,
next generation HD disc players and games make their way into

Enhancement Kit that turns a SV42LF or SV47LF slim bezel
LCD HDTV from their "Black Tie Series" into a complete
5.1 home theater system. |
VIZIO's new line of 1080p, flat
panel displays - "Black Tie" VIZIO SV42LF-42" LCD and SV47LF-47"
- will feature four HDMI inputs, Full 1080p resolution, 120Hz
processing, Motion Estimation Motion Compensation (MEMC), and
side access HD Game Port with HDMI. The new SV42LF and SV47LF
will begin shipping in July 2008 with estimated selling prices
of $1499 and $1899 respectively.
Motion Estimation, Motion Compensation (MEMC) eliminates motion
blur in LCD TVs. Using the latest panel technology, 120 frames
per second (fps) is generated from regular 50/60Hz broadcast
content. MEMC also offers a cutting edge film motion solution
that is an important new process for high definition DVDs
because it converts film that was originally shot at 24 fps, for
proper viewing at a frame rate of 120Hz. MEMC increases the
frame rate using complex algorithms to generate additional
frames. Since judder and motion blur are more visible on larger
screens, such as 32-inch and bigger TVs, the use of MEMC is
helpful for delivering the best picture performance from any
video input format.
"Full 1080p resolution has certainly come of age, especially as
lower cost, next generation HD disc players and games make their
way into the warehouse and department store channels," says
Laynie Newsome, vice president sales at VIZIO, Inc.
VIZIO's high performance LCD Black Tie products will feature
industrial design frames with a brushed aluminum accent below
the bottom of a thin, piano black bezel. The slimmer bezel
provides a distinctive and sophisticated look resulting in a
greater proportion of the television being the LCD screen
itself. When viewed with advanced video processing of 120Hz with
MEMC and 6500:1 contrast ratio, the Full 1920x1080 - 1080p
resolution allows for deep, rich blacks and extraordinarily
brilliant colors.
The Black Tie models include a side access High Definition Game
Port housing 2x HDMI v1.3 inputs and Component Video/RCA Stereo
audio for fast access to high-definition gaming systems such as
XBox 360 and PlayStation 3. Black Tie models also include a
standard/HDTV/QAM combination tuner, RF Input, are compatible
with 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 480p and 480i input sources and a
detachable base to accommodate on-wall mounting.
The SV42LF and SV47LF nclude the new brushed aluminum-trimmed
VUR8 Universal Learning Remote with Picture-In-Picture keys to
control an entire A/V system.
VIZIO also introduced the Jive SV5.1 Enhancement Kit that turns
a SV42LF or SV47LF slim bezel LCD HDTV from their "Black Tie
Series" into a complete 5.1 home theater system.
In 2007, VIZIO released the VIZIO Jive JV50P All-in-One home
theatre solution which contained a 50" Plasma High-Definition
display and full Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound system
including center and rear channel speakers with a wireless
subwoofer. VIZIO was the first TV manufacturer to offer such a
solution to the market and has continued to evolve its High
Definition, home-theatre solution into their new Black Tie-SV
product line.
The new SV5.1 Enhancement Kit works in concert with integrated
front left- and-right speakers by simply adding the center
channel, two rear channel (left and right) speakers, and
wireless subwoofer. The subwoofer transmits wirelessly through
2.4GHz transmission to the new VIZIO Black Tie Series SV42LF or
SV47LF, completing the home theatre experience. An added benefit
of the wireless transmission is the elimination of wire-clutter
commonly associated with other home theatre systems. The VIZIO
Jive generates 560-watts total peak power (70-watts RMS).
The single package solution provides consumers with a complete
and compact home theater system that is super easy to install,
eliminating most the wire clutter associated with home theater
audio systems.
The VIZIO Jive SV5.1 Enhancement Kit will retail for $299.00 and
will be available in July, 2008.
