The Rent to Own industry, like computer technology in general,
is ever-changing, and to stay in the ballgame RTO dealers need a
software vendor and system that evolves in-step with both
industries.
For many years, ROC was a contending player in Rent
to Own software. Then, in 2002, ROC left the industry altogether
leaving users high, dry &
completely unsupported.
To ROC’s credit, dealers have reported only minor software
glitches. But as hardware and operating systems advance, the clipper-based
program becomes more outdated and unstable. Technical problems
are inevitable; old technology becomes incompatible with newer,
faster systems; industry laws change; these are all reasons it’s
critical for dealers to have their valuable data supported by an
established software vendor with a growing development
department.
While
Ideal Software Systems has data conversions available from
all leading rent to own systems, in the past several months
Ideal has seen an increase in ROC conversions including:
Continental Rentals (15 stores, MI), Great Rentals (3 stores,
NY), and Mikes TV (3 stores, KS). Conversions from the latest
ROC version 2.2p3 typically cost $500/location. Dealers looking
to convert should contact Steve Lenhart, Ideal Software Sales
Department (800) 964-3325, ext 153.
