President, RTO Online, Inc.

As the election nears, local politicians wanting a seat at the cool kids table when he's elected (and with his 69% approval rating, he will be), will continue to parrot Spitzer's extremism.

Much has been in the news lately concerning comments from New York politicians regarding the rent to own industry. As is most often the case, Democrats are leading the election year charge by demonizing business. The Universal Soldier of New York Democrats is Elliot Spitzer. Spitzer's political ladder-climbing is the root cause of the latest Empire State anti business love-fest.

Attorney General since 98', Spitzer, now running for Governor, has waged a battle against business that is as wide in it's focus as it is economically damaging in its effect. U.S. Chamber of Commerce President Thomas Donohue called Spitzer, "the judge, jury and executioner." Donahue has also been quoted as saying Spitzer is guilty of "the most egregious and unacceptable form of intimidation that we have seen in this country in modern time."

One of Spitzer's politically expedient targets is the Rent to Own industry. He has stated his desire to have state controlled pricing on all rental merchandise. This is not a new position for Mr. Spitzer. He favors state control for most things; after all, business is simply too important to be left up to the profit motive.

As the election nears, local politicians wanting a seat at the cool kids table when he's elected (and with his 69% approval rating, he will be), will continue to parrot Spitzer's extremism.

The following quotes are for those of you who still harbor some scrap of hope that the Democratic party of your fathers hasn't been hijacked;

Elliot Spitzer; Source - Buffalo News - "Business, in many cases, will descend to the lowest common denominator."

Contrast that with a quote from Republican gubernatorial candidate John Faso from the same publication, "You have to balance the need for consumer protection against the degree to which government can micromanage the personal economic decisions of the individual."

The only thing further left than New York politicians are New York voters. According to a Quinnipiac University poll released June 6th, New Yorkers prefer Spitzer over Faso 66%-20%.
