There is a trend that’s pulling up volumes in the counter stool business. More and more kitchens, even in rental housing units and manufactured homes, are being reconfigured to include some type of functional island. That means more and more consumers have a need for counter stools as necessary furniture in their homes.

The bar stool and counter stool have become key items in the casual dining furniture category – even replacing the dinette in many kitchens. For Trica, the bar stool and counter stool are not just secondary lines. They are the only furniture items the company makes.

“I guess one of our benefits is that we are a specialty company. Stools are our primary focus and because of that we’re extremely efficient,” said John Doherty, Trica’s Vice President of Sales for North America.

“The rental channel is relatively new for us, and this is our first RentDirect show. But we do have a relationship with Cort Furniture who has brought in both our residential and commercial lines to rent.”

Trica can prepare a small order (smaller than half of a truck) in less than five working days. A larger order might take ten working days. But rental dealers will be glad to know there is no minimum order and Trica will ship their stools anywhere in the U.S. for less than $12 a unit.

In addition to our quick shipping program, we provide a full warranty for both our commercial and our residential lines, with 10 years on the frames of the stools and one year on the fabric.”

All Trica stools are manufactured in Canada and there is even an introductory line meant to compete with Asian imported merchandise.
