I was renting a movie at a video store in Dickinson, Texas and I dropped into the RTO store next door, for which Ernie Talley was the CEO. The store Manager told me this story;

A couple of men came into the store, casually dressed and one of them was smoking a cigar. Unbeknownst to the Manager one of the men was Ernie Talley. The Manager informed him that there was no smoking in the store. Ernie asked the Manager if he knew who he was and he responded no. After a brief conversation and a few moments of embarrassment by the Manager, all the "NO SMOKING" signs were removed from the store after Ernie stated that if his customers want to smoke in his store then it was okay with him.
