Over 100 Rent One employees, vendors and community leaders participated in the outing, held at Green Hills Country Club in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, to raise money for regional and local charities. A record $15,000 was raised for Ronald McDonald House, South County Youth and Day Care Program and others.

A group of children from a local summer recreation program were on hand Thursday to get Ronald McDonald's autograph during Rent One's 12th Annual Rent One Vendor Appreciation Charity Golf Outing. The recreation program, coordinated by Reverend James Gordon, is supported in part by Rent One.

Ronald McDonald himself attended the event. Mr. McDonald told RTO Online, "Rent One is raising money for Ronald McDonald House to help some seriously ill children. It's a McMagical good cause!"

Reverend James Gordon, CEO of Mt. Vernon, Illinois based South County Youth and Day Care Programs was on hand with a group of local children to thank Rent One for it's ongoing community support. Reverend Gordon's group coordinates self enrichment and summer recreation programs for area youth from ages 6 weeks to 16 years. As a local organization with no national charter, Rent One's support is critical to the group's success says Rev. Gordon. "We have over 100 kids enrolled in our summer recreation program. Rent One's support has made a tremendous impact on these children's lives and the lives of their families."

With the help of companies like Rent One, Rev. Gordon says his mission is to "Give young people an opportunity in life and let them know that if they work hard, good things will come their way and they can shape a better future for our nation."

Rent One, one of the nations largest independent rental purchase companies with 36 locations in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and Arkansas. The company is owned by Larry and Sharon Carrico.

Over the past ten years, the Rent One Vendor Appreciation Golf Outing has raised over $80,000 for local charities like Ronald McDonald House, Habitat for Humanity, United Way and K.A.R.E. (Kids At Risk Educationally).

The Ronald McDonald House provides a “home-away-from-home” for families of seriously ill children who are receiving treatment at nearby hospitals. Money is raised through a combination of hole sponsors, raffle tickets and donated auction items.
