On June 10th, Carey Lynne DeMoss, daughter of Ron and Lynne DeMoss, was killed in a tragic motorcycle accident while visiting a friend in Texas. Carey was 27 years old. Carey's father, Ron DeMoss, was corporate counsel for Rent Way and was instrumental in securing the future of the rent-to-own industry by advocating the transaction in many key states.

Carey grew up in Wichita and at 16 moved with her family to Erie, Pennsylvania where she graduated with honors from McDowell High School. Carey went on to graduate with highest honors from Penn State University and cum laude from Boston University Law School. She had recently begun her law career at the firm of Orrick, Herrington in New York City.

RTO Online wishes to express its deepest condolences to the DeMoss family. The thoughts and prayers of the many people that Ron has touched throughout his career are with the DeMoss family during this difficult time.

Visitation will be 3:00 - 5:00 P.M., Friday, June 15, and service 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 16, both at Downing & Lahey Mortuary East in Wichita, Kansas.  In lieu of flowers, her parents request memorials be made to Penn State's Foundation for Scholarships for Students to Study Abroad, Office of Annual Giving, 17 Old Main, University Park, PA, 16802.
