Ingram Micro Inc. has acquired DBL
Distributing Inc, a consumer electronics distributor for $96
million.
Ingram officials said the acquisition was designed to position
the company to take advantage of a convergence of commercial and
consumer technologies.
DBL Distributing is based in Scottsdale, Arizona, employees 350
people and reported 2006 sales of nearly $300 million.
DBL Distributing will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of
Ingram Micro Inc., maintaining the same brand name, business
model and management structure to ease the transition for
customers and vendor partners of both companies.
