This might be the first official Nationwide-RentDirect show for Artistic Resources, but the company has a successful 30-year history of providing custom fabricated artwork.
"We are very excited to get more involved with RentDirect especially since we have seen the success that other rental stores have had from our well-managed inventory programs," said Joe Rizk, President of Artistic Resources.
Rizk cites Buddy Bi-Rite doubling its rentals of Artistic Resource artwork by utilizing their easel display method that allows stores to merchandise two pieces of art back-to-back between two living room sets. Rizk's company places a great deal of emphasis on how the artwork is displayed within a store, and even sends fully-loaded trucks on routes to pick up slow-moving inventory. In addition, Art Director Frank Walcutt makes frequent merchandising visits to assist store managers. Walcutt has developed several programs for large furniture stores including Harlem in Chicago, City Furniture in South Florida and Marlo Furniture in the DC area.
"You can expect to see an Artistic Resources truck come through every four to eight weeks. And, if a piece doesn't move within three months, we will exchange it for something that's more appropriate for your geographic area at no charge."
Rizk says company provides artwork in several popular motifs and offers plenty of tips for how to get the most out of the artwork category.
"You can only rent one sofa per room, but you could rent up to four pictures per room. That is why we have a program with Ashley Furniture to coordinate wall art with their latest fabrics. We want to make it simple for rental dealers and their customers to create a beautiful, comfortable living room and increase profits with an easy add-on item."
Artistic Resources produces original art from 15 in-house artists and they also matte and frame popular posters for rental, as well.
"We try to educate our customers on the things they can do to rent more art. Obviously, matching the art to the furniture is a good basic tip, and so is the easel system. But there are other things a dealer can do like place a rack near the transaction counter with small pieces of art that cost $10 but could rent as an add-on item for .99 a week. We also provide dealers with custom promotional pieces of art that can be framed as giveaways. By placing a tasteful company logo near an American flag or some other iconic image, the rental store has a giveaway item that the customer will hang in their home."
