In a press release issued Friday, Rent A Center announced the
appointment of Mary Burton to it's Board of Directors. Ms. Burton
owns, and serves as the CEO of, B & B Capital. B & B is a private investment company
founded by Ms. Burton in 1992 to provide advisory services
to, and make investments in, small to medium sized retail businesses.

During Ms. Burton's 25 years in business, she has served as CEO
of Supercuts, Pip Printing, and Cosmetic Center Inc., a chain of 250 cosmetic
stores. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Staples, The Sports
Authority, and Aeropostale. NOTE:
Aeropostale, a mall based specialty retailer, just completed an IPO (initial
public offering) last Thursday. The stock soared 54% on the first day of
trading. The company expects to add an additional 80 stores this year.
Ms. Burton's background of serving on the Board of fast growing, agile
companies, seems to fit well with Rent A Center's expansion plans.
