Apex Digital, the company that is
primarily responsible for driving DVD players below $50, will
enter the PC market later this year.
According to some reports, the company will
introduce an "entertainment PC," a fully functional computer
system designed for the living room vs the office.
Apex
is also scheduled to release
ApeXtreme in May. ApeXtreme is an X-box like, 40GB
hard-drive based DVD player that also plays computer games and
music CDs.
Apex getting into the game will undoubtedly add
to the already downward pressure on prices.
