Day one of the The Rental Industry Buying Group's (TRIB) 5th Annual Meeting of the Minds began in earnest Wednesday afternoon when dealers discussed key issues facing independent RTO business owners. Discussions focused on new rental products and how technology can improve productivity and profits.

One of the most intriguing presentations was by Jim Borgan and Matt Strauss of @Road, a company specializing in GPS systems for fleet vehicles. Most people think of GPS as a simple position reporting system. @Road has taken GPS to a level unheard of only a few years ago. @Road's Geomanager® can report a vehicles position in real time and is capable of delivering detailed reports on every address a vehicle stopped at on any given day. Additional reports are available on everything from scheduled maintenance to whether or not your driver is obeying the speed limits. (see site)
