Retailers,
manufacturers, suppliers and other industry professionals are
invited to nominate deserving individuals.
Women in the Home Industries
Today (WithIt) is requesting nominations for its annual WOW
Awards, to be presented during the organization’s annual
educational conference, August 29 -31. Recipients will be
honored on the evening of August 30. This year’s event will be
held in Charlotte, NC at the Renaissance Charlotte Suites Hotel.
Retailers, manufacturers, suppliers and other industry
professionals are invited to nominate deserving individuals and
businesses in the home furnishings industry.
Since 2000, WOW recipients have been recognized for exceptional
service in the home furnishings industries.
The four awards categories are:
• Legacy Award - For a woman of achievement who has made
significant lifetime contributions to the home furnishings
industry.
• Mentoring Award - For an executive or organization that has
fostered advocacy, development or promotion of women in their
company.
• Education Award - For an executive or company which has
developed programs to educate associates, retailers or consumers
about home furnishings.
• Future Leadership Award - For a woman under 40 who has
demonstrated outstanding achievement and the potential to become
an industry leader.
To make a nomination, WithIt asks participants to share - in 50
words or less - why a person or organization should be
considered for the award. Nominees must currently work in the
home furnishings field and have at least five years of industry
experience. Each candidate must have demonstrated their ability
to impact her company and/or the industry in tangible terms.
Nominations are due May 15, 2006.
To make a nomination or to learn more about previous WOW Awards
recipients, visit WithIt’s Web site at www.WithIt.org. For
additional inquiries, contact WithIt’s Executive Director Sara
Lyke by calling 336-880-2188, or by writing to
director@withit.org
Nominees are not required to be members of WithIt and may not be
members of the WithIt Board of Directors or Board of Governors.
Finalists will receive an application to complete prior to
selection of award winners by a panel of industry peers.
WithIt was founded in 1997 to encourage and develop leadership,
mentoring, education and career opportunities for women in the
home furnishings industry.
