of W.S. Badcock,
the largest home furnishings retailer in the Southeast, opened

W.S. Badcock, a privately held family business with over 300
stores in 8 states, has been in business for over 100 years. The
company recently opened it's "mega distribution center" in North
Carolina to extend it's reach Northward.
Albert Kohut, W.S. Badcock’s VP of New Business Development,
said during the ribbon cutting ceremony, "Badcock’s slogan of
“Treating People Right” has been our way of doing business in
large and small towns throughout the south. We are now seeing
the fifth generation of family members entering the business and
with our expansion plans, our new image upgrade, our Dealer
network and the addition of our new rental division, the future
at Badcock is very bright." Kohut said that entering the rental
business was "a natural progression for Badcock".
One of
Home Now's greatest innovations is it's “Credit
Builder” program. Rental purchase customers can use their Home
Now payment history to establish a line of credit at any Badcock
retail store.
A third pilot store opening is scheduled for May of this year.
After proof of concept, the company will offer Home Now
development opportunities to it's existing dealer base and to
the general public through a franchise system.
