Rent A Center will sponsor KidCare Identification Event Thursday, May 9 2:30-4
p.m. at the Maple Avenue School in Newark, N.J.
The KidCare Identification Program is endorsed by the NCMEC (National Center for
Missing and Exploited Children). It was created by Polaroid and encourages
parents to obtain personal safety documents as a precaution. Having this
information at your fingertips the most effective way to reduce the number of
missing children.
Rent A Center and KidCare will provide parents of Maple Avenues 630 students
with investigation-quality photographs and identification booklets. Each KidCare
identification booklet contains a color photograph of each child and descriptive
information for the parents that can be shared with police if their children are
missing or abducted.
According to KidCare...Every year more than 17,000 children disappear in the
state of New Jersey and more often than not, New Jersey law enforcement officers
struggle to find quality photographs to help identify and find them. Many
families do not possess an investigation quality photograph of their child.
Trying to find one at the last minute can turn a gut-wrenching process into an
even greater trauma. Rent-A-Center (RAC) wants to save those parents and
guardians both the heartbreak, and the precious moments that could be used to
locate them, by providing proper identification photos of their children and
important safety tips for the whole family.
Newark's Mayor, School Officials and Rent A Center representatives will be on
hand for the event.
