Systems, a leading provider of rent to own software, announced
the launch of The Ideal Data Vault. Data Vault will
automatically perform daily backups of all store data. "The
threat of complete loss of business records can be a
devastating," said David Goldman, CEO of Ideal Software Systems.
"The Data Vault addresses the problem by
providing regular backups of your data using
state-of-the-art equipment and a professional support team. Your
data is actually stored in a vault for long-term protection."
The tedious and time-consuming process of making
regular copies of computer programs and data files is a well known shortcoming for most computer
users. Ideal’s Data Vault Service provides automated
backup and assisted recovery of computer
programs, documents and data files on a regular basis.
In the event a computer is damaged or the
data files corrupted, restoring the backup data files is often
the best or only way to bring your business back to life. Should
a Data Vault user encounter data loss or corruption, Data Vault
personnel will assist in the process of restoring archived
programs and data onto the customer’s computer systems.
"Making a regular data “backup” is one of the
best ways to protect your business," added Goldman. "Ideal’s Data Vault is your full-time
professional partner in keeping your business data in order."

Golden rules of Backup & Recovery |
|
1. Prepare and follow a formal Backup and
Recovery Plan. While everything is working is the time to plan.
|
|
2. Make a backup regularly and when special
needs arise. Frequent backups save work after the recovery.
|
|
3. Ensure that you backup ALL the important
files. Saving all but one file can often render the entire
backup useless.
|
|
4. Use the highest quality backup equipment and
media possible. This ensures good backups and easy restorations.
|
|
5. Use a scheme to rotate backups through
several sets of media. Having multiple phased copies of your
data gives you more chances to recover.
|
|
6. Check the media after the backup. Often
people go through the backup process but actually save nothing.
Discovering this when you really need the data is very
disappointing.
|
|
7. Move the data to a remote storage location.
You do not want a common disaster to destroy your computer and
your backup.
|
|
8. Label your storage media clearly and
uniquely. Should you need to restore files, this greatly
improves the process.
|
|
9. Safeguard your data. It has value to you and
your competition.
|
|
10. Recover wisely. Improper restoration of data
and programs can cause more problems than it helps.
