With 16 years of rent-to-own
experience, veteran David Pagano has come back to the industry
he loves. Pagano joined
ColorTyme
franchisees George Wilson and Bruce Martin of CTFLO, LLC in 2005
and cites extraordinary customer service in the rent-to-own
industry as one of his reasons to return to the business after a
one year hiatus.
“We’re providing a service to customers that most retailers
can’t or won’t,” Pagano says. “Everyone should have access to
essential appliances and luxuries in a way they can afford. I’m
proud to be in an industry that offers those choices to
consumers with cash or credit constraints.”
Pagano started his career in rent-to-own in 1989 with
Rent-A-Center and was also a member of the founding team of Rent
Rite Rental Purchase which was sold to Rent-A-Center in May of
2004. Pagano says ColorTyme was a great fit because the size of
the company fosters personal interaction between the franchisee
and customers.
“We go above and beyond the average level of service, because
that’s the only way to serve our customers,” Pagano says. “We
also want our employees to have a sense of ownership at each of
our stores: we’re going to make sure we know their names and
preserve our close-knit culture.”
With three ColorTyme stores in south Florida in Orlando, West
Palm Beach and Lauderdale Lakes, CTFLO has steady and strategic
growth goals. The group plans to open two more ColorTyme
locations by the end of 2005 and another 13 new ColorTyme stores
by 2008 in central and south Florida.
ColorTyme, Inc. is the oldest franchised rent-to-own or rental
purchase company in the United States with more than 300 stores.
Headquartered in Plano, Texas, ColorTyme offers customers the
opportunity to own the things they want and need in a way they
can afford, just as founder Willie Talley envisioned ColorTyme
25 years ago. The company got its start when Talley began
selling Curtis Mathes color televisions and realized many of his
customers couldn’t afford to buy a new TV in one payment. A new
brand and concept was born. Now in its 25th year, the company
has launched an aggressive franchise development plan and is on
track to grow significantly in the next five years with many of
its newest locations being developed by former rent-to-own
professionals who seek to own their own business.
