Rent-Way Inc. (RWY) announced that John Lombardi, Rent-Way's current Vice President and interim Chief Financial Officer, has been appointed to the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and that Roger Zwingler, Rent-Way's current Vice President of Marketing & Advertising, has been appointed to the position of Executive Vice President of Strategic Planning and Chief Marketing Officer. Mr. Lombardi and Mr. Zwingler will report to William Short, Rent- Way's President.

"John Lombardi combines a solid background in senior financial management, having 20 years of accounting and finance experience, with an excellent understanding of Rent-Way's business. Roger Zwingler possesses an extensive understanding of marketing gained over more than 34 years of experience and an excellent grasp of organizational planning principles. I believe John and Roger have the vision, the capabilities and the focus to lead Rent-Way in their respective capacities going forward," concluded Mr. Short.

Mr. Lombardi joined Rent-Way in April 2001 as Vice President, Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer. From August 1997 until he joined the company, Mr. Lombardi served as the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer at Community Rehab Centers, Inc. in Boston, Massachusetts. During 1996 and 1997, he served as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Northstar Health Services Inc. From 1986 to 1996, Mr. Lombardi worked in the specialty consulting services and audit and business advisory services practices of Arthur Andersen LLP. Mr. Lombardi is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Insolvency and Reorganization Accountant, and a Certified Fraud Examiner.

Mr. Zwingler has served as the company's Vice President of Marketing & Advertising since May 2001. Prior to employment at Rent-Way, he served in numerous advertising and marketing management positions in the U.S. and Canada with The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company from 1972 through 2000. He holds a BS degree in advertising from Kent State University and he received executive management training from Columbia University, Dartmouth College and The Darden Graduate School of Business at The University of Virginia.
