Acer Computer Australia, the number three PC vendor in Australia and fastest growing PC brand, announced a record high in retail sales for October, putting Acer on track for 70% growth for 2004 in the retail segment.

Over the past three months, Acer has been increasing its retail presence and sales across Australia with the deployment of over 35 retail kiosks to key retail channel partners including Radio Rentals and Retravision.

Acer’s National Channel’s Manager, Greg Mikaelian, attributes the record month and continuous growth in the retail segment to the outstanding efforts of Acer’s retail channel partners. Mikaelian said, "When we launched the Acer Retail Kiosk Strategy we knew it was aggressive, we knew it was ambitious, but just three months and thirty five kiosks later, we are already seeing the positive results from our retail channel partners."

Based on final market share numbers by Gartner Dataquest, Acer Computer Australia has 7.81% market share based on shipments for Australia in Q2, 2004. Acer Computer Australia was Established in 1990 and employs 390 people. Acer is the world's top five PC brand with revenues exceeding US$15.6 billion.
