We’ll
special order anything you don’t see in our store or items that

aquariums and even boats. The sky’s the limit.
Tom Karrat, ColorTyme Franchisee
Those on-line auction sites have
nothing on 35-year-old Whitesboro, South Carolina entrepreneur
Tom Karrat. He promises to special order anything from
trampolines and pool tables to riding lawn mowers at his new
ColorTyme
rent-to-own (RTO) store that opened earlier this month.
“Our ColorTyme store will have 6,400 square feet. That’s double
what’s normally available at most furniture stores in the
Whitesboro area,” Karrat explains.
“Other furniture stores will try to sell you something that
closely matches what you want,” Karrat says. “But at ColorTyme,
we’ll special order anything you don’t see in our store or items
that aren’t normally available for rent including go-carts,
foosball, aquariums and even boats. The sky’s the limit.”
This is the third ColorTyme store for Karrat; he’s been a
partner in two other stores. Karrat says he’s thrived in the
rent-to-own industry primarily because he loves helping those
customers who would normally be turned away because of financial
challenges. He’s also thrilled he can open a ColorTyme in the
very town he grew up.
“It feels kind of nostalgic to be back in town,” says Karrat.
“I’m also excited to be working with customers on a very
personal level. It gives me the opportunity to know Whitesboro’s
people and be part of the community again. It’s nice to be back
where I started.”
