CANFIELD, Ohio,: Rainbow Rentals announced that it has joined MARTA Cooperative of America, an organization representing more than 500 retail and rent-to-own stores. Rainbow expects its association with MARTA to lead to lower purchasing costs and greater access to a wider variety of consumer products.

MARTA was established in 1964 as the Metropolitan Area Radio and Television Association. Since then, it has evolved into a not-for-profit buying group that enables its members to buy quality consumer electronics products and appliances in large quantities, often at lower prices. MARTA, based in Scottsdale, Ariz., is the largest member-owned buying group in the consumer electronics industry, with 106 member companies representing more than 500 stores and sales of more than $2 billion.
