The 26th annual Association of Progressive Rental Organizations (APRO) Tom Kitchen Golf Tournament went off without a hitch today, despite a wet beginning.

Over 100 rent to own dealers and vendors participated in the event, named for former Whirlpool exec Tom Kitchen. Kitchen not only introduced Whirlpool to the RTO industry, "He spoke the language," said Daryl Tissot, owner of Ohio based Rent-2-Own and organizer of the tournament.

Tissot and Kitchen were long time friends. "Tommy understood us. He understood rent-to-own, he understood exactly what we needed and he had the ability to pull-it-off. No vendor, before or since, has been involved in our industry like Tom was." Kitchen passed away in 1998.

Winners will be announced later (Low score after 16 holes was 9 under par).
