Rental & Sales Software Systems (RSSS) will break new ground in the RTO industry this fall when online payment processing is introduced to existing and potential clients. The new technology, developed in conjunction with Imagery Marketing, allows rent-to-own customers to apply payments, via the internet, directly to their account at the store level. The online platform will provide for credit and debit card payments, which have increased significantly in recent years throughout the RTO industry. (learn more about RSSS)

"There is a significant security breach when businesses accept credit card payments by phone," says RSSS General Manager Ellison Crider. "We wanted to address what is a growing concern with our clients and also be proactive in setting the stage for a new generation of rent-to-own customers - customers who want to conveniently shop and pay online."

RSSS is first to introduce online payments to the RTO industry and anticipates a positive response. Partnering with Imagery Marketing, a St. Louis based advertising agency, proved to be beneficial to timely and accurate development. "Imagery is as closely tied to RTO as we are," says Crider. "Their understanding of the rental process was invaluable and, like us, they are a progressive company. We will continue development together to improve the program even more, and have plans to provide other invaluable online opportunities for RTO dealers in the near future."

Currently, the online payment process allows customers to view recent activity on their account(s) and apply payments chronologically, based on due dates, where more than one account exists. RTO dealers have easy access to manage the process, including options for maintaining store and corporate information, user permissions, enable/disable customer use and more. Demonstrations of the online payment process will be ongoing in the RSSS booth, #501, at APRO Convention in Orlando.
