The Hughes Group was recognized for the Eagle Award with an
impressive resume. Franchisee of 12 ColorTyme stores, Hughes has
consistently ranked in the top tier of financial performance and
demonstrates leadership by serving on the company's Franchise
Advisory Council. In the community, Gary Hughes and his team are
major sponsors for local organizations and annually helps send
300 "ColorTyme Kids" to the Boys and Girls Club summer camp. In
addition to receiving the Eagle Award this year, the Hughes
Group held the number one spot in ColorTyme's "Top 10" franchise
category for 2009.
"Big 5" members were also announced, giving recognition to
those who strived to build a multi-store business. With 40
ColorTyme locations throughout Texas and New Mexico and the
highest total annual revenue for all franchised stores, the
number one ranking in the "Big 5" was presented to Owner Mike
Harwood and President Chris Higgs of TLH Enterprises.

year Steve Dwyer.
In another category,
Steve Dwyer was named ColorTyme's New
Franchisee of the Year. See RTO Online's video interview with
Steve at right. Dwyer, who had no prior rent-to-own experience,
opened his store in Waterbury, Conn. in August 2008. Despite
being new to the industry, Dwyer achieved outstanding revenue in
the first year of operation and was also recognized by ColorTyme
as a "Silver Club" member for 2009. In addition to a strong
revenue showing, Dwyer's community and industry involvement
shows how he encompasses the corporate motto of "People Helping
People".
The two-day National Convention featured keynote and seminar
speakers Kelly McDonald and Steve Bryant, roundtable discussions
with franchise owners and store managers, a legislative update,
and the always popular State of the Industry Address from
Mitch Fadel, president and COO of Rent-A-Center.
