The
expansion of our Rural Hall facility is an important part our
continued progress.
Tony Smith, President, DAC
Rural Hall, NC – DAC Products,
a designer and producer of
wood, sewn and various other products has announced a
consolidation and considerable new investments into their Rural
Hall facility. The integration process is expected to be
complete by the end of the third quarter 2010.
In conjunction with an immediate $250,000 to $300,000 outlay
of equipment, they will be transferring twenty-five to thirty
new jobs to the Forsyth county plant. "The expansion of our
Rural Hall facility is an important part our continued
progress," stated Tony Smith, DAC's President. "It is the result
of our long term vision and is just the start of more to come.
We have a lot to be excited about." Consistent with their
philosophy of reinvestment since beginning in business, the
ownership plans ongoing investments with intended expenditures
of approximately $2,000,000 over the next three to five years.
These investments will make for better control thus giving
better service to customers and creating additional efficiencies
and capacity through the use of automation and technology.
DAC's East Bend, NC facility will be consolidated into the
Rural Hall plant yielding savings on operating expenses and
reducing the company's environmental footprint. Equipment such
as compressors, dust collection systems, and other
infrastructure support equipment will be cut in half gaining
electrical power savings. The company also expects fuel savings
from the reduction of goods and materials being transported
between the two facilities. The Rural Hall facility is in close
proximity to major highway arteries in Forsyth County, which
will benefit logistics.
Additionally, efficiencies and productivity will be improved
as manufacturing lines are to be reconfigured to reduce
non-value added activity and simplify manufacturing processes.
DAC's ownership has been a part of the Rural Hall community
and Forsyth County for three generations. "We have always
considered the Smith Family and DAC to be a part of the
community. They have been a constant contributor and source of
leadership to our town and it warms my heart and the town's
heart that they are consolidating back to Rural Hall," said
Frank James, Rural Hall Town Manager. Smith added "We have
always considered Rural Hall our home. We are very pleased to be
able to bring our headquarters and additional employees back to
such a great and supportive community."
DAC was founded by the current owners, Durward III, Anthony
(Tony), and Chris Smith in 1987. The company designs and
produces point of purchase displays, fixtures, sales
presentation carrying cases, large format and screen printed
graphics, as well as providing warehouse services for accounts
throughout North America.
