employees and claims to be the first company to successfully
sell motion upholstery as a primary product.
The petition for bankruptcy protection was signed by
PeopLoungers President James Clifton Green Jr.

James Clifton Green bought PeopLoungers in June of 1997. Green
had been the Executive Vice President of Finance since February
1983 until the 1997 buy out-reorganization.
The company now occupies a five hundred thousand square foot
facility and employs more than seven hundred fifty people.
PeopLoungers has showrooms in Tupelo, Mississippi and in High
Point, North Carolina.
