The National League West Division Champion Los Angeles Dodgers announced today they will partner with Rent-A-Center (RCII) to refurbish the recreation room at the Los Angeles Boys and Girls Club to kick off their “Dodgers RAC Room” program, the first of three rooms to be improved in the Los Angeles area. Dodger All-Star Eric Gagné, pitcher Duaner Sanchez and infielder Hee-Seop Choi will help unveil the newly remodeled “RAC Room” during a 1:00 p.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, Aug. 24 at the Boys and Girls Club, 2635 Pasadena Ave. in Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Boys and Girls Club serves more than 2,000 children annually, with membership as high as 2,500, and the RAC room will provide them a fun and safe place to gather before and after school. The Dodger-themed refurbishment will include new sofas, a big-screen television, stereo, video game consoles, computers, carpeting and more, all furnished by Rent-A-Center, in addition to Dodgers memorabilia.

“We’re very excited about supporting the Los Angeles Boys and Girls Club through the Dodgers’ partnership with Rent-A-Center,” said Dodger Senior Vice President and Chief Sales Officer Greg McElroy. “Our hope is that this new program will be impactful within the community, improving the recreational opportunities for local kids.”

In addition, Gagné, Sanchez and Choi will challenge Boys and Girls Club members to a video game contest on the new big-screen television. Utilizing the new video game console, the youngsters will have the chance to pitch to and hit off the Dodger players, with Dodger-themed prizes to be awarded to the top players..

Also, participating in the Aug. 24 ceremony will be Dodger and Rent-A-Center executives and Boys and Girls Club representatives along with a number of youngsters from the Boys and Girls Club. Following the ribbon cutting, the children will have the opportunity to enjoy the amenities of the remodeled room.
