Front-loaders represent more than 30 percent of all residential washers and dryers shipped in the United States so far this year, according to the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers.

LG Electronics achieved the number one share of the U.S. market for residential front-load clothes washers and dryers, based on revenues, during the second quarter of 2007.

LG-brand front-load home laundry products reached this milestone less than four years after entering the U.S. market, aided by the popularity of the LG SteamWasher.

“Our growth in front-load laundry is a direct result of listening to our consumers," said John Herrington, president, LG Electronics USA, Inc., Digital Appliances.

LG’s designs and innovative colors, such as Midnight Blue and Wild Cherry, are helping to elevate the laundry room from the basement to more prominent locations within the home.

Innovations, including the use of steam technology and LG’s Remote Monitoring System – which allows consumers to monitor the status of laundry cycles from anywhere in the home – further enhanced LG’s leadership position, Herrington said.
