Mizati Luxury Alloy Wheels held the grand opening of its first rent-to-own store in July 2007 in Upland, California (see story).

One month after Mizati Luxury Wheels opened its first Wheel Lots - custom wheel rent-to-own - store, company officials say the first month has "performed slightly below average on its sales revenue."

The company claims summer is not a strong time for custom wheel rental. "Most people think summer is an opportune time for retail businesses; however, based on our research of similar retail stores, we know that this is not the case," claimed hazel Chu, CEO of Mizati.

"We anticipated sluggish sales," added Chu. "However, now that the summer is almost over, school has started, and consumers are home from vacation, life is once again back to normal. At our Wheel Lots-Upland store, we have started implementing more advertising and marketing campaigns. We are also running some special promotions, so I expect sales for Wheel Lots will pick up quickly."
