Who would better deserve the largest Valentine's Day card than our troops abroad

A Guinness Book of Records attempt, called Operation Love Our Troops, is asking families of soldiers and all Americans to join in to create the largest digital Valentine's Day card ever to service members stationed abroad.

Library of Life and Soldiers' Angels, a brigade of more than 80,000 mothers and other volunteers who send care packages as well as pajamas to wounded soldiers and provide services for dependent families, have joined forces to ask Americans to remember the troops on Valentine's Day.

"Who would better deserve the largest Valentine's Day card than our troops abroad," says Patti Patton-Bader, founder of Soldiers' Angels and great grandniece of General George Patton. "We appreciate what they are doing for us and this is a nice way to tell our service members we are thinking about them back home."

"Messages are free and can be sent to Marine, Army, Navy, Coast Guard or Air Force members -- stationed anywhere in the world," says Amanda Hale, Vice President of Communications, Library of Life. "We will host all messages for free forever."

All anyone has to do is access the Internet and go to www.operationloveourtroops.org. Print messages can be short or long, personal to a soldier or addressed to all troops. Voice messages can also be recorded through the telephone. Messages will be sent to the troops via email on February 14.

The largest print Valentine had over 5,000 signatures and was created in 2000 in Bombay, India. Library of Life is making it easy for all Americans to remember the troops this Valentine's Day and smash the old record.

Participants can start their own everlasting websites dedicated to honoring their soldier heroes at Library of Life's celebration-of.com website. Personal stories, messages, photographs, music and videos can be attached and shared online with families and friends. For every website purchased, Soldiers' Angels will receive $5. The sites are maintained forever by the Library of Life Trust, a not-for-profit organization that raises funds for the Red Cross and other good causes.

Library of Life was started by Stephen Forsyth in 2004 when remembering all the parts of his life, family and friends and all the experiences he had enjoyed, mostly good, some bad. His own survival of a life-threatening illness, and the death of his brother, helped him reflect about the loss of memories and learned lessons that could be shared by people all over the world. These musings helped bring about the Library of Life websites. Current site offerings include -- www.celebration-of.com, a great way to celebrate the birth of a baby, wedding or anniversary, and www.memory-of.com, a place to share a loved one's life with others and offer comfort to those left behind.

Soldiers' Angels has been in operation since 2003, when Patti Patton-Bader's own son was stationed in Iraq. He told her he appreciated her care packages, but wished all the soldiers in his company could get them too. And that blossomed into one of the top military support groups in the country.
